Cup Plant, Silphium perfoliatum, a medicinal plant of late summer. It has been used for lung hemorrhage, back and chest pain, paralysis, rheumatism and to prevent children from seeing ghosts. It was used by the Iroquois, Meskwaki, Ojibwa, Omaha, Ponca and Winnebago Indians.
